In our efforts to help teachers fully utilize the new P.E. & Sports Curriculum Guide, the Curriculum Unit in collaboration with the Sports Division has organized a training workshop for K teachers.
This workshop is scheduled as follows:
Transportation will be reimbursed and snacks will be provided.

Five Rounds of the Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship 2008 have been played - see below for the latest results and standings.

Thursday 31st January 2008Below are the results of the Qualifying Rounds of the U-13 Primary Schools Football Championship, which was held in 5 Districts. The winner and runner up in each zone are qualified to play in the Intermediate Round (10 teams), which will be held in Portsmouth on Thursday 7th February, commencing at 10:00 AM.

Sunday 27th January 2008The United Insurance Secondary Schools Under 20 Cricket Competition will begin with the first scheduled game between Portsmouth Secondary School and North East Comprehensive School taking place on Wednesday, January 30 at the Benjamin’s Park in Portsmouth.
Saturday 19th January 2008The U-13 Football fixtures of the 5 Qualification Tournaments in the different districts can be found below. 30 Primary Schools registered this year for the championship which began Friday 18th January 2008.
Saturday 19th January 2008The Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship started on Wednesday 16 January 2008 at the Botanical Gardens with an official Opening at the Pavillion followed by 2 Girls and 2 Boys games on two separate courts.
We thank you for your usual cooperation to make this championship a success - the opening indicated that we will experience an exciting tournament this year.

Saturday 1st December 2007The Winners of the Secondary Schools Football Championships 2007 are as follows:
The weather was perfect, the games exciting - the championship was running smooth without any problems until we discovered that 2 schools had played most of their U-15 and U-17 games with overage players. This resulted in penalizing the teams with a 0:3 ff in the respective games and it drastically changed the final standings of the group stage.
It is very disappointing that such an incident happened on a school league level - an educational level. This forces us to have tighter registration requirements in the future.
Wednesday 7th November 2007After a 2 week Independence break the second phase of the Secondary Schools Football Championships commenced November 6, 2007 with 5 games played.
With 2 clear wins, PSS has qualified for the Semi Finals both in the U-15 and U-17 categories.
U-15: Winning as well, ITSS has topped Zone B and is qualified for the Semis Wednesday 14 November, 2007 in Dublanc.
U -20: The race for the two finalist places is getting very interesting - 5 out of seven teams have 6 points.
