Results: 2013 NBD Primary Schools Girls Football Championships

2013_psfb_girls_champsThe girls of the Grand Fond Primary School have reclaimed the NBD Primary Schools NBD Primary Schools Girls Football Championship title. This time, however, they did it all by themselves, since they had joined with the girls of Delices Primary School to form the combined team which won last year.

This crowning moment for the Grand Fond girls happened on Monday 25th March at the Newtown Savannah where four teams were vying for the championship title.

In the 1st semi-final match – Grand Fond Primary beat the Goodwill Primary 3:2 on penalty kicks (this after the scores were tied 0:0. The next semi-final match featured the Wood Ford Hill Primary and the St. Luke’s Primary – Woodford Hill advanced by winning 1:0.

Goodwill Primary and St. Luke’s Primary then played the 3rd & 4th place decider match and St. Luke’s Primary won 1:0 on penalty kicks.

Woodford Hill Primary School and the Grand Fond Primary School featured in the Final and at the end of regulation time – it was the girls of the Grand Fond Primary School who were holding the trophy as they posed for pictures. Their win over Woodford Hill Primary – 2:0 – had ensured that they were crowned Champions of the 2013 NBD Primary Schools Girls Football Championship.

The Sports Division congratulates the young women of the Grand Fond Primary School on this achievement. The Division also extends thanks to all the principals, teachers, coaches, students, parents and especially, the National Bank of Dominica, for making this experience possible.
