Results: 2013 Untied Insurance Secondary Schools U-20 Cricket Championships

The Final of the 2013 Untied Insurance Secondary Schools U-20 Cricket Championships organized by the Sports Division ended in a draw but it was the Dominica State College (DSC) who recaptured the championship title by virtue of its 1st inning score against the Castle Bruce Secondary School (CBSS).

At the match held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on Thursday 28th February and Friday 1st March, the Dominica State College won the toss and elected to bat.

DSC – 293 all out

  • Gian Benjamin – 120
  • Jerlani Robinson – 86
  • Dishon Joseph – 31

Bowling for the CBSS were:

  • Nassian Frederick – 6 for 26
  • Joshua Challenger – 4 for 68

CBSS – 153 all out

  • Kyle Cabey – 49
  • Kershaski Jno Lewis – 29

Bowling for DSC:

  • Limron Bernard – 3 for 10
  • Damien Thomas – 3 for 59
  • Dishon Joseph – 2 for 45

DSC batted in the 2nd inning and declared at 51 for 2

  • Jerlaini Robinson – 44
  • Joshua Challenger and Kershaki Jno Lewis had a wicket each

CBSS needed 192 to win but could only get to 120 for 9 at the end of play

  • Kershaski Jno Lewis – 81
  • Curmichael Augustine – 13 not out

Bowling for the DSC:

  • Damien Thomas – 4 for 34
  • Dishon Joseph – 3 for 52
  • Limron Bernard – 2 for 3 runs

The Sports Division continues to express its gratitude to the United Insurance Company for its continuous sponsorship of this important cricket league at the schools. Five hundred dollars ($500.00) of the sponsorship funds are given to the champion school as a reward.
