In 2010, the Sports Division instituted the District Sports Festival as a strategy to rejuvenate sports at the community level while bringing people together for recreation and socialization.
It was hoped that coming out of the District Sports Festival, communities would organize themselves into structured sporting bodies which would lead to the establishment of Village Sports Committees and then this would ultimately lead to the formation of District Sports Committees.
The southern community of Dubique emmerged winners of last year’s Festival
