Wednesday, June 25th saw the winning schools from the eight (8) districts coming together for the inaugural Primary Schools 10/10 Cricket Festival at the Botanic Gardens.
The schools, which participated in this knock-out formatted competition, were Mahaut Primary, Salisbury Primary, Sineku Primary, Calibishie Primary, Soufriere Primary, Roosevelt Douglas Primary, Grand Bay Primary and Delices Primary.
Sinkeu vs. RDPS
Sineku – 81 for 3 in 10 overs
RDPS – 71 for 6 in 10 overs
Sineku won by 10 runs
Calibishie vs. Salisbury
Calibishie – 70 for 4 in 10 overs
Salisbury – 34 for 7 in 10 overs
Soufriere vs. Grand Bay
Soufriere – 92 for 0 wickets in 10 overs
Grand Bay – 83 for 4 in 10 overs
Soufriere won by 10 wickets
Mahaut vs. Delices
Mahaut – 64 for 4 in 10 overs
Delices – 47 for 4 in 10 overs
Mahaut won by 17 runs
The schools that qualified for the semi-finals were Sinkeu, Calibishie, Mahaut and Soufriere.
1st match in the semi-finals:
Sineku vs. Calibishie
Sineku – 55 for 5 in 10 overs
Calibishie – 58 for 2 in 7.4 overs
Calisihie won by 8 wickets
2nd match in the semi-finals
Soufriere vs. Mahaut
Soufriere – 122 for 1 in 10 overs
Mahaut 58 for 3
Soufriere won by 64 runs
Calibishie and Soufriere are into the final which will take place on Tuesday 1st July at 1:00pm.
The festival proved to be an exciting event with very good scores from the batsmen. The Sports Division thanks the schools for giving the young cricketers this platform to further develop and expose their talents.
