22nd Annual Schools Sports Awards

gold-trophy-on-whiteThe Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports will host the 22nd Schools Sports Awards on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 10:00 am at the Auditorium of the Dominica State College in Stock Farm.

A number of students and schools will be presented with trophies and plaques for their sporting achievements during the 2013/14 academic year.

The awards will be given for all the championships held under the auspices of the Sports Division.   The Division held competitions in:

§  Table Tennis

§  Basketball

§  Track & Field

§  Football

§  Cricket

§  Volleyball

§  Netball

Mr. Ainsworth Irish, Sports Administrator and Superintendent of Police, will be the featured Guest Speaker at the event. 

Other dignitaries who are expected to address the function are the Sports Coordinator – Mr. Trevor Shillingford, Member of Parliament for the Roseau North Constituency – Hon. Julius Timothy and the Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports – Hon. Justina Charles.                 

The event will be held under the theme “Developing and Strengthening Values through Sports”.

Over two hundred (200) awards will be presented to the deserving schools and students.
