Hon Roselyn Paul on Monday held discussions with heads of the National Sports Associations. Nine associations and the Dominica Olympic Committee were part of the discussions which centered around Sports during the Covid pandemic among others.
The meeting was held via Zoom and also had in attendance the Permanent Secretary for Sports and the Sports Coordinator. All associations were written to and invited to the meeting.
The meeting heard presentations from all present with association heads reporting on their organizations’ present status, strategies for bouncing back post Covid restrictions, expectations from the state and planned activities. The minister used the occasion to compliment the associations for their use of innovative ideas during the Covid restrictions and also inform of government’s plans for sport.
The minister informed of plans for a phased return to sporting activities and requested submissions from the associations – particularly guidelines from their parent bodies in keeping with Covid protocols.
